ME

Okay, you want to know about me?

My mother was northern Irish, my father was from NE Scotland, and I was brought up between the two countries with my sisters Jacqueline and Fiona.

I settled in the lovely Northern Ireland while both my sisters emigrated – Fiona is in Melbourne, Australia and Jacqueline in Dordogne France. I guess that means cheap holidays!

Rebecca, my youngest paternal sister lives a stone's throw from me.

I have two children and 5 grandchildren and a new great grandchild. I am very blessed. They are a huge part of my life for which I am thankful.

When I am not being Nanny, you can find me hard at work at the office. My work involves marketing our wonderful heritage monuments and buildings for the Historic Environment. It is good but demanding work.

So now you know just a little about me, but the best is yet to come. My life totally changed in 1986 when I had an encounter with Jesus. He makes family, work and leisure worth the doing.

My passions are words and people. I love to
read; I can truly get lost in a book and I read about 3 a week! Thankfully I can do this while I commute. Creative writing gives me the space to vent cathartically (that will only ever be for
me), through creative writing I also get to create and encourage and inspire and share my story.

This is not my biography so I’d better stop now and perhaps as you read my blog posts and hopefully one day my novels you will feel like you know me and perhaps love me as much as my dearest sisters, children and grandchildren do. (LOL!)
Follow me on this blog for all things creative writing and my other blog where I post Christian encouragement for women- Connect Women.

May the God of all grace richly bless you

Amanda
